Hyderabad: Car of TRS leader vandalised after it blocked Amit Shah’s convoy

On Saturday, a TRS leader’s car was allegedly vandalized by security personnel after it reportedly blocked the path of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s convoy here.

The incident, which was deemed a security lapse, occurred near a hotel in Begumpet as the Union Minister was returning from the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.

The car was driven by TRS leader Gosula Srinivas Yadav. Some security personnel allegedly vandalized it.

He claimed that the car had simply stopped and that it was not a deliberate move. He said that the vehicle’s rear windshield was smashed before he could move it. He stated that he would speak with the officers about the incident.

“The car came to a complete stop. I was nervous. I’ll talk to them (Police officers). They vandalized the vehicle. I’ll go, it’s unnecessary tension,” he said.

Images of the TRS leader sitting in the car with the broken glass quickly went viral on social media.

In response to the incident, BJP MP K Laxman blamed the TRS government. He wondered how the state government would protect others if the country’s home minister’s security was compromised.

A similar incident occurred during Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s recent visit, according to the MP.

As per reports, a TRS leader confronted Sarma and attempted to dislodge the mic on September 9 while the latter was addressing a Ganesh immersion procession in the city.

On Saturday, Amit Shah hoisted the national flag and watched a parade of central paramilitary forces at an event organized by the union culture ministry to commemorate the accession of Hyderabad State to India.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao did not attend the event because the state government is celebrating National Unity Day on September 17. He raised the national flag at a state government-organized event.
