Woman Scholar of the Hyderabad Central University has allegedly attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze in her hostel room on Wednesday.
Neetu Das, 25 year old PhD student native of Cuttack in Odisha, set herself ablaze on fire might be due to depression, police said here. The woman received 50 per cent burn injuries and was shifted to the state-run Osmania General Hospital.
According to the university official, she had joined the PhD course in January this year and she was reportedly under depression over not being able to clear an entrance examination.
