Hyderabad Expected to Experience Thundershowers for Next Two Days

As per the latest reports, the Metrological Department Hyderabad forecasted light to moderate thundershowers over the district for the next two days on Tuesday.

Sravani, Scientist, Metrological Department Hyderabad, was reported as saying that light to moderate thundershowers are expected in Hyderabad today and tomorrow evenings.

“As seen in the synoptic situations, the conditions are favorable for the withdrawal of the South West monsoon for the entire country of India, which is present up to Madhya Pradesh. It is expected to move up to Vidarbha and North Telangana for the next 48 hours,” she said.

“There is another synoptic situation in which cyclonic circulation extends up to 3.1km above sea level in the North Andaman Sea.  As a result, the turf has been extended from the North Andaman Sea to the South Bay of Bengal, towards Tamil Nadu,” she further added.

The Metrological Department also predicted that the rainfall would decrease after that, with some light showers possible.

“As a result of these synoptic conditions, we expect light to moderate thunderstorms and thundershowers in some parts of Telangana, particularly in the Northern, North Eastern, and Central regions. Today and tomorrow will see light to moderate thundershowers in some parts of Telangana. Rainfall will then decrease, with light to moderate rain expected in isolated areas,” Sravani said.

On Wednesday, the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) predicted light rain (2.50 mm to 15.50 mm) in areas such as Serilingampally, Moosapet, Charminar, Hayatnagar, and Gajularamaram. However, a high-intensity downpour is expected in Khairtabad, Secunderabad, Amberpet, Malakpet, Chandrayangutta, Yousufguda, and Jubilee Hills.

Until now, the city was supposed to begin its monsoon retreat, but the withdrawal has been postponed this time. So far in October, Hyderabad has received 78.5 mm of rain, compared to the normal 57.1 mm.
