Hyderabad Flood Precautions & Traffic Measures

Authorities in Hyderabad have taken precautionary measures to protect public safety in the face of heavy rainfall and the potential of flooding. One such move is the shutdown of two exits on the Outer Ring Road, a major roadway that circles the city.

Exit No. 2, located in Edulanagulapally, is a vital exit that connects to significant locations like as Gachibowli and Nanakramguda. Closing this exit restricts traffic from entering or exiting the city in that direction, lowering the likelihood of accidents or road obstructions in flood-prone areas.

Similarly, Exit No. 7 near Shamirpet has been closed to avoid any potential hazards or disruptions in that area of the city.
Through their official Twitter handle, the Cyberabad Traffic Police have been actively monitoring the situation and providing immediate updates on traffic restrictions. They hope to reduce traffic congestion and promote seamless circulation of vehicles on safer routes by keeping the public informed about road closures and other critical information.

Aside from traffic restrictions, authorities are closely monitoring water levels in reservoirs such as Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar. Both of these reservoirs are approaching Full Tank Level, which means they are nearly full. Extra caution and awareness are required in this situation, as surplus water may need to be released to prevent spills and potential harm to downstream areas.

Furthermore, Raju KVP, Assistant Commissioner of Hyderabad Traffic Police, has issued a warning to citizens living along the Musi River, which receives water from these reservoirs. Citizens are asked to exercise caution and obey the advice of police officers and civic officials to safeguard their safety during this vital period.

Heavy rains and the potential of floods prompted officials to take these precautionary measures in order to preserve public safety and reduce the impact of the ongoing monsoon. The situation is fluid, and officials are working hard to manage water levels and safeguard the safety of inhabitants in Hyderabad and its neighboring areas.
