First ever Hyderabad Heritage 10K Run held at Charminar, organized jointly by Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Star Maa TV in Old City here on Sunday.
About 3000 people have participated in the run which was aimed to bring people closer to the old city and its heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Star MaaTV Business Head Alok Jain said “This is a wonderful initiative to promote sports, wellness and health for the citizens of Hyderabad. We wish more and more people come forward to adopt running as a primary form of exercise and resolve to live healthy”.
Star Maa TV Serial fame Actor Nirupam (who plays Karthik role) of Karthika Deepam, said, “We would like to appreciate the organizers and assure continued support from GHMC for such events which enhance the overall image of Hyderabad City.
Heritage has always been Old City’s calling. To restore the brilliance of the vast heritage and in particular this monument and to provide visitors an urban environment that is aesthetic, safe and secure, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) initiated Charminar Pedestrian Project. The project aims to give the visitors and the public a truly world class experience by restoring the local culture and customs, constructed elements, commodification, and create an atmosphere that enables vibrancy and economic growth.
Youngsters, Septuagenarians, Octogenarians, physically challenged, fit and unfit athletes, journalists, artists and others took part in the event.
