Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao inaugurates Tukaram Gate RuB

The newly built four-lane road under bridge (RuB) at Tukaram gate was inaugurated today by KTR, providing relief to local residents and commuters.

KT Rama Rao, Minister of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, stated that under the Strategic Road Development Plan, infrastructure projects worth Rs 6,000 crore had been completed, with more projects lined up.

The Minister was speaking after the Tukaram Gate Railway under Bridge (RuB) was inaugurated on Friday. He stated that a meeting with South Central Railway officials was recently conducted to develop and build new RuBs and Road over Bridges (RoBs) in Secunderabad, Sanath Nagar, Khairatabad, and other areas of the city.

The Minister further remarked that the State government was ready to construct RuBs and RoBs and that under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, decades-old issues were being addressed. He stated that the development of the Tukaram Gate Railway under Bridge (RuB) would address the long-standing traffic issue in that location.

According to a GHMC official, the newly inaugurated facility is a welcome relief from the frequent closure of the railway crossing at Lalaguda halt station. Furthermore, the RuB will relieve traffic congestion on the Malkajgiri, Marredpally, Tarnaka, Mettuguda, and Lalapet-Secunderabad roads.

Individuals travelling from Moula Ali, Malkajgiri, and Tarnaka to Secunderabad will also benefit from a more convenient connection.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has begun work on grade separators, flyovers, underpasses, RuBs, and RoBs under the Strategic Road Development Programme (SRDP) at a cost of Rs 8,000 crore. The goal is to make Hyderabad a signal-free city.

The Telangana government is actively constructing bridges, RuBs, and other infrastructure to increase connectivity in Hyderabad. Attempts are also being made to improve the city’s tourism.
