Hyderabad: Parking at Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge carries hefty fines

It is no secret that the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge in Hyderabad is a popular spot for many people to snap selfies. The haphazard parking of vehicles on the bridge has, however, caused regular traffic snarls.

In the past, the police have used blaring sirens to drive away people. People continue to park their vehicles on the bridge despite this.

The Madhapur police have now decided to take strict action against traffic violators. Parking on the Durgam Cheruvu cable bridge will now attract a hefty fine of Rs 2000, a 10-fold increase from the previous fine of Rs 200.

Increased patrolling against parking at cable bridge

In an effort to prevent illegal parking and ensure a smooth flow of traffic, police have also increased patrols along the cable bridge after sunset and on weekends.

Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed on the bridge to monitor the situation in real-time. Cameras will capture the number plates of bikes and cars parked illegally, and challans will be issued to violators.

Furthermore, enforcement drives will be conducted against illegal parking on the bridge.
