Hyderabad preferred investment destination for US Aerospace and Defense Corps: KTR

Industries Minister KT Rama Rao stated that Aerospace and Defense was a thrust sector in Telangana, and that the state had accomplished a remarkable feat by winning the Best State awards for Aerospace for three consecutive years in 2018, 2020, and 2022.

Hyderabad was also ranked the number one Aerospace City of the Future in terms of cost effectiveness in the Financial Times FDI rankings 2020-21. He said this recognition reflects the state’s progressive attitude toward the aerospace sector.

The Minister spoke at a round table discussion on aerospace and defense in Washington, DC. The event drew prominent US majors, advisory firms, think tanks, and startups, resulting in a lively platform for discussion and collaboration.

During the roundtable, the Minister discussed how the aerospace sector and private sector defense investments in Telangana have grown dramatically over the last nine years, making Hyderabad the most preferred investment destination for US Aerospace and Defense corporations.

The Minister also emphasized how TSiPASS, a groundbreaking industrial policy, boosted industry confidence by granting online time-bound and transparent approvals based on self-certifications.

Industry leaders who have a presence in Hyderabad have praised the Telangana government and its leadership for being progressive and approachable. They also expressed confidence in future investments in the state, stating that they were preparing to engage more Indian partners in key defense supply chains.
