Hyderabad Reports Six Fresh COVID-19 Cases, Mask Mandate Reinforced

Following four instances reported the day before, Hyderabad recorded six additional cases of COVID-19. In response to the new cases, Telangana’s director of Public Health and Family Welfare has restored the required usage of masks. The Telangana’s director of Public Health and Family Welfare highlighted that failure to wear a mask will result in a fine.

Only Hyderabad has reported COVID-19 cases in the last week, with no other districts in Telangana reporting any. Since December 18, the daily count has grown from one to six. The public is warned to be cautious in light of a recent increase of COVID-19 cases in adjacent states.

The Telangana’s director of Public Health and Family Welfare released a press release urging the public to remain cautious. Children under the age of ten, pregnant women, and anyone over the age of 60 should exercise extra caution and avoid needless outings. For persons aged 20 to 50, who are more susceptible to the sickness, precautions such as wearing a mask and keeping a distance of more than 6 feet are advised.

To reduce exposure to COVID-19, people with underlying health conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiac illness, chronic kidney disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cancer, or any other chronic illness are advised to stay indoors and avoid travel unless medically necessary.
