Hyderabad sees a 130% jump in housing sales

During the first half of the current financial year, residential housing units sold in the top seven cities increased significantly. Overall housing sales values in Hyderabad jumped 130 percent from Rs 6,926 crore in H1 FY22 to Rs 15,958 crore in H1 FY23. In the first half of FY23, nearly 22,840 homes were sold in Hyderabad.

In the first half of FY23, homes worth Rs 1,55,833 crore were sold in Mumbai metropolitan region (MMR), NCR, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune.

According to Anarock’s research, the value of units sold in FY22 was nearly Rs 71,295 crore.

As compared to 87,375 units sold in the same period of last year, nearly 1,73,155 homes were sold across the top seven cities between April and September 2022.

Anuj Puri, Chairman, Anarock Group, said, “In value terms, MMR topped the list with housing sales worth Rs 74,835 crore in H1 FY23, followed by NCR with sales of Rs 24,374 crore. While MMR saw a yearly gain of 110 percent in overall housing sales value (it was Rs 35,610 crore in H1 FY22), NCR saw a whopping 174 percent jump.”

“In H1 FY22, NCR saw total housing sales worth Rs 8,896 crore,” said Puri. A total of 52,185 homes were sold in MMR during the April-September period, while nearly 30,300 units were sold in NCR. Both volume and value of housing sales were dominated by the MMR, followed by the NCR and Pune.

In Bengaluru, homes worth INR 17,651 Cr were sold in H1 FY23, compared to INR 8,218 Cr in FY22 – an increase of 115% annually. In H1 FY23, Pune sold approximately 26,580 homes worth INR 13,532 crore.

In the first two quarters of the current fiscal, homes worth INR 4,774 Cr and INR 4,709 Cr were sold in Kolkata and Chennai, respectively, up 115% and 57% annually.
