Hyderabad: Suresh Chavhanke booked for Asad Owaisi’s morphed video

The chief managing director of the Sudarshan channel Suresh Chavhanke faces a case for allegedly posting a morphed video on the Facebook page of the channel two days ago depicting AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

According to Mohd Irfan Khan, the social media administrator of AIMIM, the channel intentionally incited hatred between different communities within the country by tarnishing the image of Asaduddin Owaisi.

The caption of the video stated “Lageh Rahiyeh, Ek Din Aisah Bhi Ayega, Owaisi Bhi Ghar Wapsi Kar Bhajan Gayegah,” . Har Har Mahadev, which means Stay engaged, one-day Owaisi will also sing Bhajan after returning home.

A case has been filed against Sudarshan Television News’ Editor in Chief and CMD Suresh Chavhanke for allegedly uploading a morphed video of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

The morphed videos with captions portray false details, and negativity among their followers, and will cause enmity among religious groups. Sudharshan TV of Suresh Chavhankeh is filled with defamatory and derogatory posts throughout, and action must be taken at the earliest opportunity before any further harm is caused. Sections 153(A), 469, and 504 of the Indian Penal Code have been invoked and a investigation has been launched by the police.

Various cases have been booked by many people regarding the crime committed through image editing and face morphing, This isn’t the first time this has happened in the case of AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

Previously a social activist was arrested by the Dabeerpura police for hurting the religious sentiments of people. As the activist made an offensive post on social media by morphing Asasuddin Owaisi’s photo. A complaint was made by a local businessman and later the activist was arrested by the police on accounts of the serious crime he committed.
