Hyderabad: Tata Motors unveils first all-female passenger vehicles showroom

Tata Motors, India’s major automotive brand, and its dealer partner Venkataramana Motors unveiled the company’s first all-female passenger vehicle showroom here on Friday.

This showroom is strategically located at Jubilee Hills, one of Hyderabad’s most acclaimed locations, and will boast an all-female team of 20 women in charge of its end-to-end operations, which will include sales, after-sales, valet, security, housekeeping, and back-end operations, among other things, the company said in a release here.

The showroom, which is designed in accordance with Tata Motors’ Dealership Standards, will bring Tata Motors’ New Forever range of passenger vehicles, as well as its finest in class sales experience, to all consumers in and around this region.

Mr. Rajan Amba, Vice President, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Care, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, speaking on the occasion, stated that from a sales standpoint, Tata Motors alone has seen a more than 30 percent increase in women customers, with the average age of our women buyers dropping from 37 to 34 years, indicating an increase in the affinity of young women towards vehicle purchase.

Unveiling this all-women dealership is in line with our determined efforts to improve gender inclusion, not only within our company but also among our stakeholder community and the broader industry, he said. Hyderabad is a major market for us, and both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are significant to our growth plan, he added.

Amba said that in FY22, they saw an 82% increase (compared to FY21) in their passenger vehicle sales portfolio, with a 13% market share in the region (both figures are for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana).

With this initiative, they furthermore hope to help bring more diversification to the country’s larger auto sales and after-sales community, which has traditionally been dominated by men.
