Hyderabad to Get Two More Vande Bharat Express Trains

Hyderabad may soon see the introduction of two additional Vande Bharat Express trains, as part of the Indian Railways’ expansion plans. The city currently has two operational Vande Bharat Express trains, running between Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad-Tirupati, respectively. These trains have proven popular with rail users, boasting an occupancy rate of at least 99% throughout the week.

According to sources from the South Central Railway (SCR), the Indian Railways is now planning to introduce two more Vande Bharat Express trains in the next three to four months, running between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, as well as Hyderabad and Pune. The SCR authorities are said to be working in tandem with the Indian Railways to plan these services.

Several trains are already running between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, with both cities being major hubs for the IT industry in India. Regular passenger trains take around 12 hours to travel between the two cities, whereas the Vande Bharat Express is expected to cut down travel time to approximately eight hours.

Once the Kacheguda-Bengaluru route is operational, sources suggest that the Indian Railways may consider introducing a Vande Bharat Express train between Secunderabad and Pune. If these schedules are finalized, Hyderabad could become the first city in India to have four Vande Bharat Express trains in operation.
