Hyderabad’s IT Corridor Gets Ladies Special Bus Service

Beginning July 31, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) will begin an exclusive “Metro Express Ladies Special” bus service to meet the demands of women commuters in Hyderabad’s IT corridor. The service seeks to provide a simple and hassle-free commute for women working in the city’s IT industries, which employ an estimated five lakh people.

This “Metro Express Ladies Special” bus service will operate from JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University) to Wave Rock as an experimental operation. The service will be offered during business hours to meet the commuting demands of female professionals.

The bus’s designated route will include Forum/Nexus Mall, Hitec City, Mindspace, Raidurg, Bio-Diversity Park, Gachibowli ‘X’ road, Indira Nagar, IIT ‘X’ road, Wipro Circle, and ICICI Towers. The bus will begin service at 9 a.m., departing from JNTU.

The launch of this dedicated ladies’ bus service is planned to provide a safe and comfortable form of transportation for female employees, allowing them better access to their workplaces. According to RTC authorities, more routes may be established in the future based on response and demand.

This effort aims to promote women’s safety and enable them to commute to work with greater ease and confidence, making it a significant step toward increasing women’s workforce participation in Hyderabad’s IT sector.
