Hyderabad’s Numaish 2022 ends on April 8

Numaish, the All India Industrial Exhibition, will come to an end on April 8. In a press release on Wednesday, the Exhibition Society management expressed their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Hyderabad Police Commissioner and the heads of government departments who have granted permission for the exhibition to run.

As a result of the pandemic, Numaish was suspended a few days after it began in January, then resumed on February 25 at the Exhibition Ground in Nampally. Due to restrictions imposed in wake of Covid-19, the exhibition was not held last year as well.

Numaish is organised by the Exhibition Society, which has obtained the necessary permissions from the Commissioner of Police and State Fire Department.

During the week, the event runs from 4 to 10.30 pm and on the weekends, it runs from 4 to 11 pm. It was the 81st edition of the exhibition.

Businesses and traders from various parts of the country have set up stalls to sell their products at the fair.

Failure of online payments

Many businessmen and vendors across the nation look forward to attending the yearly event, but an unexpected problem has caused issues for many of them, which is the lack of internet.

Most vendors with stalls have been setting them up for many years, however, they have lost sales because customers no longer carry cash with them and cannot pay online since there is no network in the area.

Controversy surrounded the exhibition earlier this year, as the society running it was accused of not having the proper permissions and having no fire safety standards in place. In 2019, there was a fire in one of the stalls, resulting in extensive material damage.

The 45-day exhibition began on February 25. Admission is Rs. 30 per person. The entrance fee for children under five years of age is free. Approximately 700 stalls are open this year.
