I am not in the race for TPCC chief post : Sridhar Babu

Former minister and Congress party MLA D. Sridhar Babu today said that he was not in the race for the post of TPCC president. He made it clear that he would abide by the decision of AICC on the issue.

Speaking to media persons at Assembly media point, he said that the state government was trying to sell away 30000 acres of public lands. He demanded it to withdraw its GO No. 13 to sell away the lands. He said that their party president Sonia Gandhi had given separate Telangana states for protecting the government lands and not sell them. He said that the state was under debt of Rs.4 lakh crore.

Referring to the statement of state Finance Minister T. Harish Rao about the sale of the government lands by the predecessors of the ruling TRS party, he made it clear that they asked the then chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh state to not sell the lands. He said that the responsibility to protect the government lands in various districts of the state lied on the state government.

He said that they had distributed thousands of acres of land to the poor people of the state during their rule.
