In plain sight of Traffic Police, TRS leaders break traffic rules

No traffic challans were imposed on the GHMC Mayor, Deputy Mayor, or hundreds of TRS party leaders who violated traffic and Covid-19 norms

In order to show its massive support for Yashwant Sinha, the opposition’s presidential candidate, the ruling TRS party organized a rally in support of him on Saturday while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held its national executive and public meeting.

There were numerous violations of traffic and Covid-19 norms by GHMC Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and TRS political leaders, yet the Hyderabad traffic police failed to issue a traffic summons.

Many citizens then questioned the traffic police department why this difference exists? The Mayor of Hyderabad, Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, the Deputy Mayor, Mothe Srilatha Sobhan Reddy along with Deputy Mayor, D Nagender, and party workers were seen without helmets and without masks, which is mandatory under Covid regulations.

As a result of TRS party leaders clearly violating traffic rules, the Hyderabad Traffic department immediately cites common people for not wearing helmets. Sivakumar questions the Traffic Police department’s indifference. Several netizens demanded the traffic police impose challans and fines for violating traffic and Covid norms after the rally when the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and MLAs posted photos and videos of riding bikes on social media.

During the bike rally, Sai Madhav posted photos of the number plates of vehicles driven by the MLA and Deputy Mayor. TRS party leaders and hundreds of TRS party workers were clearly violating traffic police norms, according to him. Further, the traffic police department did not issue a single traffic challan to any of the bike rally participants until Saturday night, and it did not impose a single penalty for not wearing a face mask.
