does govt’s move to fill vacant posts has anything to do with GHMC Bash?

Following the disappointing outcome in recently held GHMC election, the TRS government appears to have gone in damage control mode and looking way out to the situation through pinning an idea of filling all the vacant posts in government departments.

Within a two weeks of GHMC result, a meeting was convene Yesterday by the Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar with special chief secretaries of all the departments in order to take stock of the vacancies laying vacant in different government department. The meeting is said to have been called on the instruction of Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao who wanted to fill up as much as 50 thousand posts lying vacant in the various government departments.

Affirming the same later, the Chief Secretary said that “The meeting was convened to reckon the number of vacant posts in various departments that would be filled through direct recruitment.”

“All the officials, he further said, were told to compile the number of posts and submit the report in a prescribed format. To expedite the process, a separate cell will be formed in this regard.”

However, the those well acquainted with the situation have contended that out of the blue decision to fill nearly 50 thousand vacant posts in different department shows that that government has gone into damage control mode as no such measures were anticipated not are announced during the GHMC hustings by the government. This development was seen only after the GHMC result came out that not gone well in favour of the ruling party.
