Hyderabad: Sangareddy MLA from Congress Jagga Reddy on Wednesday said that the decision of Rahul Gandhi to resign from the party’s president post would usher in reforms in the party. He said that Rahul Gandhi took a strategic decision to reform the entire party organization. He also said that Rahul had taken up the reform process without hurting and without causing problems to anybody.
In an informal chat with media, he said that the existence of the Congress party was not possible without the Gandhi family. He said that there was a need to see the Gandhi family as a system instead of a mere family. He said that both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi would have become PM of the country during the ten year long rule of UPA but they decided to make Manmohan Singh as the PM of the country.
He said that it was the Gandhi family that brought in NREGS scheme for the poor people of the country. He made it clear that the Congress party would always work for the welfare of the people of the country. He said that the suggestions of senior leaders of the party should be taken into consideration in the party while giving adequate opportunities to the youth leaders. (NSS)
