Japan: Business Travellers To Quarantine For 3 Days 

In the latest update from Japan, the government has said that they would short the quarantine period for vaccinated business travellers from abroad. From November 8, their quarantine period would be for three days since arrival.

Eased Quarantine To Apply For Short-Term Business Travellers 

As per the latest reports, the eased quarantine rules will apply for business travellers who are visiting the country for a short period of time. They would have to inform their companies about their activities in prior. And even after the three days quarantine period, they would have informed the authorities of their schedule so they can be supervised accordingly.

Currently, a 10 days quarantine period is required for business travellers after they enter Japan.

For the fully vaccinated travellers who will be in the country for a longer period like for the students and technical intern and trainees, they will have to complete a period of 14 days into quarantine upon arrival. Meanwhile, schools and firms planning to accept them will be required to inform of their schedule to the authorities and their plans to supervise them.

The government will begin to accept the applications from the sponsors from November 8. However, the entry for tourists is currently restricted.

Seiji Kihara, the Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary confirmed that the government is planning to open the country for tourists soon. But it would be in stages.

Five Chile Presidents Forced Into Quarantine

Meanwhile, five Chilean presidential candidates were forced to go into quarantine after they were in close contact with a candidate who had tested Covid 19 positive. This comes just 16 days before the national elections in Chile.

Out of the five candidates, four had participated virtually in debates on television. Amongst the seven presidential candidates, five had participated in two debates earlier.
