Japan To Temporarily Close Embassy In Ukraine, Calls Netizens To Leave Country

In the latest update, Japan on Wednesday said its international safe haven in Kiev, Ukraine will be briefly shut in the midst of increasing strains in the district.

The Japanese Foreign Ministry said a contact office will be set up in western Ukraine’s Lviv to deal with the international safe haven’s tasks including helping Japanese residents to leave Ukraine.

The Japanese government has approached its residents to leave the nation, and said that as of February 27, around 120 Japanese residents were as yet in Ukraine.
