Jawan scripts History on BO, Biggest hindi opener of all time

‘Jawan’ has already emerged as a blockbuster contender at the box office. On its opening day, ‘Jawan’ raked in an impressive Rs 75 crore from audiences across India, encompassing all languages, according to trade sources. The Hindi version of the film boasted a solid 58.67% overall occupancy on Thursday, with Chennai leading the pack with a remarkable 81% occupancy rate.

Additionally, noted trade analyst Ramesh Bala, who shared his insights on X, projected ‘Jawan’ to have a staggering opening day collection worldwide, potentially exceeding Rs 150 crore.

Furthermore, ‘Jawan’ achieved a remarkable milestone in Australia, grossing AUD 400,000 on its Thursday debut, securing its position as the first Indian film to claim the top spot at the Australian box office. Across the Tasman Sea in New Zealand, ‘Jawan’ also made an impressive debut, capturing the number one position with NZ$ 79,805 (equivalent to Rs 39.13 lakh). In Germany, the film secured the third spot with earnings of Rs 1.30 crore. The movie’s success was not limited to these territories, as it enjoyed a promising start in North America, the UK, and Canada.

‘Jawan’ made its global theatrical release on September 7, 2023, offering audiences the choice of Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu versions. Directed by the talented Atlee, the film stars the charismatic Shah Rukh Khan alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani. Notably, Deepika Padukone makes an extended cameo appearance in the film.

With ‘Jawan’ being hailed as a commercial entertainer, it showcases Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role, portraying both an intelligence officer and a cunning thief. The film’s captivating scenes were shot in various captivating locations, including Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan, and Aurangabad. Adding to the film’s allure, Anirudh Ravichander made his Bollywood debut as a solo composer, contributing to its mesmerizing soundtrack.
