Hyderabad: Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy here on Wednesday charged the ruling TRS with not taking any steps for implementation of farmers loan waiver scheme in the State. He said the poor farmers were facing severe problems due to the non-implementation of the scheme even seven months after the TRS retaining power.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister on the farmers’ problems, Jeevan Reddy explained the problems of farmers on not getting benefits under Rythu Bandhu scheme. He said the bankers were forcing the farmers to repay their old loans along with accrued interest. He termed the State government as “anti-farmer” and demanded that the government give clarity on the issue. Alleging that only 50% of the amount was paid to the farmers under the scheme, he demanded that the State government pay the remaining amount at the earliest. (NSS)
