Job racketeer held in Begumpet, Rs 60,000 seized

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force of North Zone have busted a fake government job racket and nabbed one Gurram Prasad alias Babu Rao, 31, who indulged in cheating innocent jobless youth by false promises of providing Government jobs as Jr. Assistant in Irrigation Department at Secretariat. He also collected huge amounts from job aspirants by showing fake appointment order copies.

The police said Gurram Prasad of Begumpet, Secunderabad was a native of Parakal in Warrangal District. The police seized cash of Rs. 60,000, one Mobile phone, five fake documents.

On a complaint from victim P. Sudarshan at Begumpet PS stating that Gurram Prasad approached the victim on the pretext of arranging a Govt job as Jr Assistant in Irrigation Department to brother of the complainant and collected Rs 7,50,000 and failed to arrange job and changed his shelter from one place to another.

The accused introduced himself as Section officer in Irrigation Department, Secretariat to the victim and promised to procure Jr. Asst job in Irrigation Department. The accused called the complainant and his brother near Taj Vivanta Hotel, Begumpet and received Rs 7,50,000 in three instalments from August last year. In this manner, the accused cheated several job aspirants.

Based on the compliant, the Begumpet police registered a case under Sections 420 IPC against the fraudster. The police laid a trap and apprehended the accused and seized Rs 60,000, One cell phone and fake documents from the possession of the accused. (NSS)
