Job Seekers Protest for Teacher Openings in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A big number of government job seekers attempted to hold a demonstration in front of the Commissioner and Director of School Education’s office, asking that teacher openings in the state be filled.

In response to a protest appeal, a large number of candidates with B.Ed and D.Ed degrees marched from Basheerbagh to the office near Telecom Bhavan in Saifabad. They were pushing Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao to keep his commitment to notify 13,500 teacher job opportunities made in the state Assembly.

However, police officers on the area attempted to prevent them from going because the rally had not been granted permission. Despite police efforts to stop the march, several candidates were adamant about continuing their protest and broke through the police barrier, making their way to the Telangana State Legislative Assembly.

In response, the police used moderate force to disperse the crowd. Several demonstrators were apprehended and transferred to the police station in police vans.
