Kangana Ranaut Mistakenly Attacks BJP’s Tejasvi Surya Instead of Tejashwi Yadav

Actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut accidentally attacked her BJP colleague Tejasvi Surya instead of opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav due to the similarity in their names. While addressing an election rally, Ms. Ranaut criticized Tejasvi Surya for alleged hooliganism and eating fish, when her intended target was Tejashwi Yadav, a former Bihar deputy Chief Minister, whose video of eating fish had recently sparked a political clash.

Tejasvi Surya is BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Bengaluru South in Karnataka. In contrast, Tejashwi Yadav responded to Ms. Ranaut’s comments with indifference, questioning who she was.

Ms. Ranaut, the BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, has been taking aim at the Congress party, particularly targeting Vikramaditya Singh and Rahul Gandhi over dynasty politics. While speaking at a rally in Sundernagar, she criticized them for focusing on impractical topics.

The Congress party responded by questioning Ms. Ranaut’s qualifications and her understanding of dynastic politics. The Mandi Lok Sabha constituency will go to polls on June 1 as part of the seventh phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
