“Kanti Velugu” to set world record: Kadiam

Hyderabad: “Kanti Velugu” scheme to be launched across the state from August 15 will set a world record of sorts, according to Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari. Along with Tribal Minister Chandulal and others he addressed an awareness program at Warangal district on the Kanti Velugu scheme. This program, he said, is a courageous one in the history of the country as no other state did such a huge program he said. Srihari said that it is great to ponder upon and launch a scheme with a vision to treat the people to get better eye sight and medicines and goggles. The minister said that Kanti Velugu will be providing eye services to 3.60 cr people in the state of Telangana. He attributed the scheme to the long term vision of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to provide complete eye care services free of cost to the people in Telangana. He asked the local leaders to give wide publicity and encourage all people to check up for eye sight and related ailments. The program will be a success by active involvement by people he hoped. (NSS)
