Kaynes Technology, a leading semiconductor company, plans to build a cutting-edge Assembly and Testing (OSAT) and compound semiconductor manufacturing plant in Telangana. With an expected expenditure of Rs 2800 crore, this ambitious project would signify a significant advance in the state’s electronics manufacturing industry.
The new plant is projected to create significant job possibilities for around 2000 people. This initiative is consistent with Telangana’s aim of supporting economic growth and employment creation in developing sectors.
KT Rama Rao, Telangana’s IT and Industries Minister, applauded Kaynes Technology’s choice to locate this sophisticated semiconductor production facility inside the state’s boundaries. He was overjoyed that the state has joined the ranks of worldwide destinations recognized for hosting the semiconductor sector.
Minister KTR said, “This is indeed a proud moment for Telangana as we join the league of coveted global destinations that host the semiconductor industry.” He also emphasized recent investments by global industry players like Foxconn and Corning, which have cemented Telangana’s status as a favored destination for electronics production.
The proposed manufacturing facility would be located in Kongara Kalan, a thriving industrial district that also contains Foxconn and Corning facilities. This project represents a crucial step ahead in Telangana’s road to becoming a leading participant in the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing sector, with a completion timetable of 12 to 18 months.
