KCR Raja of Cheap Political Gimmicks, Says Shabbir

Hyderabad: The leader of Opposition in  the State Legislative Council,  Mohammed Ali Shabbir  today lampooned Telangana Chief Minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao,  as ‘Raja of cheap political gimmicks and failed poll promises’.

Addressing the media at CLP office here,  along with Akkula Lalitha MLC and whip of Congress party in  Council,  T. Santhosh Kumar, MLC and newly elected MLA from Yella Reddy Constituency, and Jajula Surender, he  said KCR should take lessons from Congress President Rahul Gandhi whose poll commitment for waiver of Rs. Two lakhs worth farmers’ loans and MSP support in three states – Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, and Rajasthan  –has been fulfilled within hours of swearing –in and spectacular poll win in the Hindi belt. The cedibility of the Congress party is visible while  KCR played delay tactics as he lacked credibility, commitment, and honesty to implement all the  poll promises.

Shabbir Ali  said KCR has announced his new programs with effective from April 2019 only while Congress CMs declared their programs almost immediately. ‘Unlike KCR and TRS, Rahul Gandhi and Congress have become  role models of honoring poll promises immediately and enhanced  the image of political leadership ‘he said.

He contended that  the TRS government and KCR had executed only such poll promises where they had huge personal financial gain and not the welfare of the poor and backward sections of society. Commenting on the recent ‘disqualification proceedings ‘ against four TRS  MLCs  Bhoopathi Reddy, Konda Murali, Ramulu Naik, and K. Yadava Reddy-for joining the Congress party,  he said the  KCR and TRS  had suddenly woken up to the existence of constitution and anti-defection Act. ‘Where was its lofty sense of constitutional jurisprudence when  25 of Congress, TDP and YSRC MLAs and MLCS were admitted into TRS wholesale since 2014  and even elevated one TDP MLA Talasani Yadav as a cabinet minister?

When Congress gave notice of disqualification of  Damodar Reddy, .MS Prabhaker,  who defected to TRS for anti-party activities, almost years ago, the CM and Council Chairmen were silent  without any action till date,  he added. He demanded KCR to tender apology to the people of Telangana for such in action .

Shabbir said that earlier the Congress government had implemented 61% reservation in Gram Panchayat election in 2013 including a 34 % quota to BCs. Now by issuing an ordinance hurriedly, the TRS Govt had reduced reservations for BCs to 23.81% only which is a loss of more than 1000 BC Sarpanchs. (NSS)
