KT Rama Rao Highlights Electricity Supply Challenges for Farmers

KT Rama Rao, the IT Minister and working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), took to Twitter to emphasize the ongoing challenges with insufficient electricity supply faced by farmers in Karnataka.

He cited the long-held reputation of the Congress party’s inefficiency in delivering energy to farmers in Telangana, and said farmers in Karnataka were also facing similar issues.

Farmers in Karnataka have been criticizing the government’s failure to secure enough electricity supply to the agriculture industry. They have asked for at least seven hours of power to safeguard their standing crops of chilies, cotton, red gram, and rice.

Karnataka Energy Minister K. George has vowed to give farmers with five hours of power in shifts and to publicize the schedules through various media platforms. However, it appears that these promises have not been entirely fulfilled, since demonstrations about power outages persist.

Rama Rao’s tweet reflects his party’s assessment of the Congress party’s governance performance and impact on farmers. Such assertions are frequently made during political campaigns and debates to emphasize perceived faults or weaknesses in the administration of the opposition.
