KTR holds high-level meeting with WEF and industry leaders

Telangana will explore possible collaboration with the World Economic Forum in order to leverage their network to accelerate the value and impact created by the state’s Life Sciences sector.

This was discussed at a high-level meeting here on Tuesday, chaired by IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, with representatives from the WEF and key leaders from Telangana’s Life Sciences and Pharma sectors.

The meeting was organized to look into ways to strengthen Telangana’s life sciences ecosystem and identify additional ways to integrate Hyderabad into the global health network. During the session, Rama Rao emphasized Telangana’s strengths and the various initiatives of the State government that have accelerated the growth of the life science sector multi-fold.

The discussion that took place also centered on the possibility of collaborating with the WEF to leverage their network to accelerate the value and impact created by Telangana’s Life Sciences sector. The World Economic Forum team praised the State’s efforts and initiatives. It also expressed a desire to work with Telangana as a strategic partner in furthering its mission to improve healthcare worldwide.

The Life Sciences and Pharma sector was represented by Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Chairman Satish Reddy, Biological E Limited Managing Director Mahima Datla, Aurobindo Pharma Director P Sarath Chandra Reddy, Novartis Business Services Global Head Naveen Gullapalli, and Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Centre Senior Director and Site Leader Divya Joshi.

Dr. Shyam Bishen, Director and Deputy Head (India and South Asia), Sriram Gutta, Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Head Purushottam Kaushik, and Yash Divadkar, Community Lead, Business Engagement (India and South Asia) represented the WEF.

Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary for IT and Industries, EV Narasimha Reddy, Managing Director of TSIIC, and Shakthi Nagappan, Director of Life Sciences and Pharma, were also present.
