KTR inaugurates India’s first women-owned industrial park in Hyderabad

First, in India, a completely women-owned FLO industrial park, promoted by FICCI Ladies Organization (FLO) in conjunction with the Government of Telangana, was inaugurated in Hyderabad with the launch of operations by 25 women-owned and operated units representing 16 diverse Green Category Industries at the Park.

Minister KT Rama Rao, speaking at the inauguration, advised entrepreneurs to think large and start thinking about new technology. Concentrate on aerospace, defence, and food processing, and form a global collaboration.

He also offered additional 100 acres for the FLO women’s industrial park’s expansion, subject to the park’s focus on novel items. Provide an additional 10% subsidy to female entrepreneurs.

The 50-acre FLO Industrial Park, developed with a Rs. 250-crore investment, is the Flagship project and the first of its kind on a national scale, with participation open to FLO Chapter Members and national members.

The park opened its doors to 25 women-owned and operated units representing 16 Green Category Industries. The park, which was designed specifically for women in 2013, was formally launched on Tuesday by Telangana minister KT Rama Rao.

Uma Chigurupati, Chairperson of the FICCI FLO Hyderabad Chapter, stated that while 25 units have begun operations, the industrial park is expected to produce 1600+ jobs over the next two years. Electronics, packaging, furnishings, general engineering, food processing, medical devices, jewellery, nutraceuticals, and auto parts units will all be arrived here.

The park’s fundamental purpose is to demonstrate the power of women in the industry. It has also constructed amenities to provide a home environment for women while keeping the needs of Working Women Entrepreneurs in mind, such as designing crèches and playschools.
