HYDERABAD: In a gesture IT Minister KT Rama Rao today offered Rs 10 lakhs of financial assistance to Telangana protagonist Dr. Kolluri Chiranjeevi who is in a private hospital. Chiranjeevi fought the 1969 Telangana agitation and recent agitation of statehood.
The minister on knowing of Chiranjeevi is on ventilator support at a private hospital in Gachchibowli spoke to his family members.
He inquired about the health condition of Chiranjeevi and offered Rs 10 lakhs from Chief Minister Relief fund towards his treatment.
The family members of Chiranjeevi expressed gratitude to the minister at the right time. They thanked the minister for the amount towards treatment.

Meanwhile, the health minister Etela Rajender has called on the patient and consoled the family members. He asked the doctors attending him to offer better treatment. He said that Chiranjeevi played a key role in the statehood movement. Both in 1969 and recently he fought for statehood he added.
The minister expressed hope that Chiranjeevi will recover speedily.
