Hyderabad: AICC Telangana incharge RC Kuntia on Wednesday revealed that they had actually urged party president Rahul Gandhi to contest from any Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana State like many of the State units of the party from south India and added that the party president however decided to contest from Wayanad MP Seat in Kerala.
Addressing mediapersons here today, Kuntia mocked the criticism of rival BJP leaders and asked as to why they didn’t criticize their leader Narendra Modi when he contested from two seats in 2014 elections. Kuntia said the Congress party would win all the 17 Lok Sabha seats in the State. Targetting KCR, he asked him as to what he had achieved in the last five years of his rule.
Commenting on the Nyay scheme proposed by his party president, Kuntia said they would implement the scheme across the country after coming to power . He said poverty alleviation could only be possible only through their scheme and added that the Congress government would credit Rs 6,000 in the bank accounts of every poor person. He also said the BJP was scared of the Nyay scheme while heaping praises on the just-released Congress manifesto. (NSS)
