Mahakutami talks on seats still inconclusive

Hyderabad : The seat distribution among the Maha Kutami parties has not yet finalized. The discussions were still going on and they may take a few more days to get finalized.  According to sources, the stalemate was still going on between the Congress and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) parties. TPCC Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, AICC secretary and Telangana Congress party affairs in-charge RC Kuntia from Congress party and Prof. M Kodandaram and Kailavai Dileep Kumar from TJS participated in the discussions held at a private hotel on Friday also. Their discussions were not fruitful even today. The Congress leaders left the hotel without saying a word to the waiting mediapersons, on the discussions.

On the other hand, Kodandaram, who came a bit later from the hotel, said it was common in politics and it will take time to adjust the seats when there were more than two political parties in the alliance. “Everything will settle down within two or three days”, he said and made it clear that he was not going to participate in the AICC chief Rahul Gandhi’s public meetings. He said, “I will not answer to the speculative questions”, he said when asked whether he will participate in the Rahul’s rallies if the Congress party invites him to participate in the Bhainsa and Kamareddy meetings.

Replying to another question, Kodandaram made it clear that their candidates will participate in the elections on their own symbol. He said that it was not possible technically to participate in the elections on Congress party symbol. He said that the registration process was over and within a few days they will get a symbol too. Reacting on TRS party’s partial manifesto, Kodandaram said he will not say anything on it as there was nothing great in it. He said that they will inform the media immediately after the completion of the talks on seat sharing.

It is learnt that the TJS party has stuck to its demand of 16 Assembly seats, but the Congress party, which was saying that it will give two or three seats to TJS, was not yielding to the TJS’s demand and but it changed its mind and was willing to give eight or nine seats. The TJS party was trying to settle the issue while taking 10 seats.

According to sources, the Congress party has tried seriously to settle down the seat sharing issue on Friday itself to convey something to Rahul Gandhi on seat sharing to give him a room to speak on alliance in the public meetings but it did not happen. (NSS)
