Maharashtra: Dharmabad Tehsil appeal to merge in Telangana state

Maharashtra’s Dharmabad Tehsil fed up with the step motherly treatment being given by the state government, villages from the Dharmabad tehsil of the district on Thursday appealed to the Telangana government to merge them in their state.

In a letter addressed to Chief minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao, it has been urged that the farmers from the tehsil were suffering hardship for a long period of time. They have not been provided basic amenities by the state government while Telangana state provides power round the clock, issues life insurance policy of Rs 5 lakh and also provides financial help during the period of distress to them.

A delegation under the leadership of President of Sarpanchs’ Association Baburao Patil Kadam meet MP of the Telananga Rashtra Samiti Kavita at Nizamabad and narrated the plight.

A letter of appeal was also handed over to her for the Chief Minister. This has raised a question on the functioning of the Maharashtra government.

Being located on the boundary of the both states and for having predominant number of Telugu people always remained instrumental in deciding leader of the area.
