Malyala Rajaiah passes away

Hyderabad: Former minister Malyala Rajaiah passed away here on Monday after a protracted illness. He breathed his last due to brain stroke in Secunderabad Apollo hospital.
Rajaiah is survived by two daughters and two sons. When late N T Ramarao founded the Telugu Desam party in 1983, Rajaiah joined the TDP and successfully contested in the 1985 elections from Andhol defeating Damodara Rajanarasimha. He was re-elected as MLA in 1994. Later, he was elected as MP from Siddipet in 1997. He also worked as Minister for Housing and Finance in the late NTR cabinet. (NSS)
