Mandaviya issues apology for misleading Parliament on Hyderabad bulk drug park

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has issued an apology for incorrectly stating in the Lok Sabha that the Centre had allotted a bulk drug park to Hyderabad and that Rs.1,000 crore had been sanctioned for its establishment.

He apologized for the same in a letter written in reply to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi raising objections for misleading the House.

Mandaviya made contradictory statements in response to a question on bulk drug parks raised by BRS Lok Sabha floor leader Nama Nageshwara Rao.

In a written response, the Minister stated that the bulk drug parks had been assigned to three states: Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh.

However, in his oral response, he claimed that the Centre had also approved a bulk drug park in Hyderabad.

Raising objections to the same, the BRS had proposed introducing a privilege motion against the union Minister.

Nonetheless, the party leadership decided to initially take up the issue with Mandaviya, who responded positively and agreed to correct his statement in the House.

Recently, Industries Minister KT Rama Rao criticized the BJP-led union government for denying Telangana the bulk drug park.

“By denying the Bulk Drug Park to India’s pre-eminent Life Sciences hub, you have done a great disservice to the nation. It’s a pity that for NPA government political considerations outweigh national interests,” he tweeted.

Coming down hard on Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya, the Minister tweeted in Hindi, “Sri Mansukh Mandaviya ji such a big lie. You have made Telangana’s heart sad”

“The Minister has not only misled the people of Telangana with his white lies but also the august house – Indian Parliament. Request BRS Party flood leader in Lok Sabha Nama Nageswara Rao to move a privilege motion and make sure he apologizes to people of Telangana for misleading,” Rama Rao tweeted.
