Marri cries legal battle on bogus votes, slams EC for eye wash steps

Hyderabad : Describing the Election Commission’s steps in deleting bogus votes in the State as an eye-wash, senior Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy today charged the Election Commission with misguiding the High Court on the removal of bogus voters. He said would continue his legal battle on the issue of bogus voters. Speaking to mediapersons here today, Shashidhar Reddy said the EC had assured him of deleting bogus votes with modern software, but removed a few votes for namesake. Questioning the EC as to why it failed to send an Audit team to the State to detect and delete bogus votes, Marri alleged that the EC was trying to implement its poll schedule in conformity with the Assembly dissolution.
