Mayor exhorts corporators to create awareness about Kanti Velugu program

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan today appealed to all corporators, ward members, Area Sabha Members, public representatives, NGOs, RWAs, SHGs to play a very vital role to create awareness about the prestigious program of the government “Kanti Velugu” (Light for Eyes) so that every citizen under the GHMC limits around 1.20 crore citizens will have a treatment and tests of Eye Related Problems under Kanti Velugu (Light for Eyes).

To create mass awareness to each and every citizen of the twin cities about the Kanti Velugu program to utilize the opportunity to come forward a review meeting has organized at GHMC Head Office under the Chairmanship of Mayor where Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy, MLAs Maganti Gopinath, Arikepudi Gandhi, Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor, Principal Secretary Medical and Health. Shanthi Kumari, Yogitha Rana, Hyderabad Collector, Corporators along with GHMC Senior officials, Zonal / Deputy Commissioner have participated in the meeting.

While interacting with the Corporators and Public Representatives H.W.Mayor has received suggestions given by various Ward Committee Members, Corporators and other public representatives responding to them H.W.Mayor said that every care is been taken at the eye care centres which are going to be provided at each ward where necessary instructions have already been given to the Executive Engineers to provide all basic minimum facilities and the works are in progress said the Mayor.

The Mayor appealed all the Corporators and public representatives to personally monitor the situation to provide the facilities which are mostly needed like seating arrangements, drinking water facilities etc., duly monitoring with the concerned officials for effective implementation of the scheme to make a grand success as per the vision of the CM.

Principal Secretary Medical and Health Smt. Shanthi Kumari, Ms. Yogitha Rana, Hyderabad Collector, Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, GHMC, Sri Baba Fasiuddin, Deputy Mayor have also interacted with the officials and the public representatives and explained about the prestigious program of the Government.

Commissioner Dr.B.Janardhan Reddy said that the citizens must present their Aadhar Cards for their Eye Test all the officials of various Government departments must have proper coordination and to take up the responsibility to conduct the programme in a more appropriate way. (NSS)
