MCRHRD launches training for Central & State secretariat ASOs

Hyderabad: Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana launched Foundation Training Programs for 91 Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) of Central Secretariat Service, Government of India and 20 ASOs for Telangana Secretariat on Tuesday.

APVN Sarma, IAS (Retd.), Advisor to Governor of Telangana, in his Inaugural Address, said that Government jobs, irrespective of different rungs of administrative hierarchy, provide a rare opportunity to serve the society in general and its weaker sections in particular. He stated that the Government pays reasonably good salaries to lead decent lives and called upon the ASOs to serve different stakeholders, with a sense of satisfaction, without comparing their salaries and benefits with their counterparts from the private sector and multi-national companies.

He said that continuous learning from teachers, colleagues, and one’s own experiences will be greatly instrumental in keeping the skill sets up-to-date and current, understanding the problems in their true and total frame of reference, and measuring up to the dynamic aspirations of people in the contemporary scenario.

Chief Secretary to Govt of Telangana, in his Presidential Address, said that the ASOs, who initiate files, play an important role in improving the nature and quality of governance. “While officers at higher rungs of the administrative hierarchy are important in their own right, the ASOs, through their competence and commitment, can contribute immensely to the development trajectory of our country”, Acharya stated.

He aklso said the ultimate success of different schemes of Government depends on the quality of the work of the ASOs. He advised them to ensure that the benefits of numerous schemes reach the weaker sections of society. “Processthe files with a humane touch rather than doing so merely from a techno-legal perspective”, he called upon the ASOs. Acharya, IAS administered the oath of allegiance to the Constitution of India to the ASOs.

Dr Sunitha H Khurana, former Director, Institute of Secretariat Training and Management, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, who was the Guest of Honour, said that idealism to serve the society is a hallmark of good employees. “Make a deliberate effort to enrich your efficiency, develop a positive attitude, and perform the job with a high level of integrity”, she advised the ASOs.
