MEA Secretary Visits Saudi Arabia, Takes Stock of Haj Arrangements

Muktesh Pardeshi, Secretary (CPV&OIA) at the Ministry of External Affairs, is on a visit to Saudi Arabia to comprehensively monitor and review the arrangements for Indian pilgrims ahead of the upcoming Haj pilgrimage.

Mr. Pardeshi visited Jeddah Haj Terminal on Sunday and took stock of the facilities related to arrival and departure of Indian pilgrims. Earlier on Saturday, he went to Madina and reviewed the Haj arrangements. He reached Riyadh on Monday for the last leg of his journey.

During his visit he visited Madinah Airport as well as pilgrim accommodation and Indian Haj Mission office. The Secretary also visited the Markaziya and Pilgrims’ Dispensary in Madinah to review the accommodation arrangements for Indian Haj pilgrims. During this time, Indian High Commissioner, Dr. Suhail Ajaz Khan and Consul General Mohammad Shahid Alam also accompanied him.

Indian High Commission in Riyadh wrote on social media platform X, “As part of the review of Haj preprations, Shri Muktesh Pardeshi, Secretary (CPV&OIA) visited the Jeddah Haj Terminal today & interacted with Airport authorities &other concerned agencies in order to streamline the arrival & departure of the Indian pilgrims in the forthcoming Haj.”

The Indian delegation led by Secretary Pardeshi visited various important sites in Madinah. He reviewed the preparations at several places in Uhud Mountain around the Holy Prophet’s Mosque and close to the Quba Mosque. All these are the places where a large number of Indian pilgrims stay during Umrah and Hajj pilgrimage.

This visit by the Secretary to key sites in Saudi Arabia emphasizes India’s commitment to ensuring a seamless experience for its pilgrims, especially first-time visitors.
