Hyderabad: As statistics revealed that more number of minors indulged in eve teasing and harassment of women and girls, Hyderabad City SHE Teams organized group counseling for 48 minors caught in various acts of harassment against women, at the SHE Teams office beside HACA Bhavan on Tuesday. Eight counselors headed by Geetha Challa from Mano Jagrithi, an NGO, counseled the children through various interactive sessions.
One of the minors, after the session, said he used to be harsh against his parents and elders and enjoyed riding bikes at high speed, but now after the counseling he has a goal of becoming an engineer. Another minor said he now views women differently and that they have to be respected and treated like their own sister or mother.
The parents of the minors, who attended the session along with their children, felt happy to see their children take some very important lessons on life in such a loving and caring way. One of the parents said he will definitely spend more time with his son and try to teach him better values in life. The parents thanked SHE Teams for holding the counseling session.
