A road accident on the Rajiv Rahadari near Katnapalli in Sultanabad mandal injured roughly 40 people in Peddapalli on Monday morning. A private transport bus toppled after hitting with the road median, causing the accident.
The incident featured a Ramagundam family who had travelled to Hyderabad for a function and were on their way back to their hometown when the catastrophe occurred. While attempting to avoid colliding with an autorickshaw, the bus driver lost control and struck with the road median, causing the vehicle to overturn. Around 20 people were seriously injured, while the others were only slightly hurt. Local citizens quickly organised for ambulances from the ‘108’ service to transfer the injured people to the hospital.
The Peddapalli Assistant Commissioner of Police Mahesh, Sultanabad Circle Inspector Jagadish, and Sub-Inspector Vijayender came on the spot and are investigating the accident.
