Munugode bypoll: ‘Take money from BJP but vote for TRS’, says KTR

Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) urged people to take money from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but vote for the TRS ahead of the Munugode bypoll on Friday.

KTR’s remarks come a day after Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay told Munugode voters to accept money from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), but vote for his party’s candidate Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy. The TRS working president claimed that the BJP was openly distributing money in order to entice voters ahead of the critical bypolls.

KTR stated that Reddy was attempting to buy people’s self-respect before questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to keep his promises. He went on to criticize the Centre for failing to provide funds to Telangana.

Addressing a rally in Choutuppal KTR said, “Asia’s biggest Industrial hub will be set up at Dandumalkapur on 580 acres of land 220 companies will operate their offices in the hub.”

KTR also said that Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy who won the 2018 Munugode Assembly election as a Congress candidate has been neglecting the constituency from the start because he has been too preoccupied with expanding his business interests by trading his seat with the BJP.

After greeting people from Koyyalagudem to Choutuppal at a roadshow on Friday, he said Rajgopal Reddy had finalized the deal for ₹18,000 crore contract to create the by-election.  Reddy and the BJP both intended to use their financial power to win the by-election. He asked people to consider why the by-election was called just about a year before the scheduled time.

He stated that the government had begun construction of two reservoirs to irrigate 2.5 lakh acres, with 70% of the work completed thus far. They would have been completed by now if not for the obstacles erected by the BJP and Congress. “I will adopt and develop the constituency as my Sircilla constituency,” he promised.

Rama Rao sought to learn from the public whether the BJP had kept any of its promises to them. He warned people not to believe the BJP’s false promises because it would push them deeper into crisis.
