Murder & robbery in Rajendranagar, three arrested, one absconding

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have unraveled the mystery behind the gruesome murder of a sexagenarian and robbery occurred on the intervening night of August 16 and 17 under Rajendranagar PS limits and arrested three of the four accused identified as Kishan Mukhiya, 21, Nithish Kumar Mukhiya, 19, Rajkumar Mandal, 20, and Umesh Mukhiya (absconding). All the four accused belonged to Bihar State and close relatives.

According to Cyberabad Police Commissioner, on the intervening night of August 16 and 17 while victim Taramani Bai and her husband (deceased Rajendra Prasad Agarwa) were sleeping in their house, at about 01.45 am some unidentified offenders entered their bed room, disconnected oxygen support of her husband, tied their hands and legs with a thin rope and shut their mouths with an adhesive tape. When the old couple raised hue and cry, the accused smothered the man to death by a pillow. Later, they ransacked all the wardrobes and took cash, gold and silver jewellery and Mobile phones and fled with the booty.

The Commissioner said all the four accused involved in the murder and robbery case belong to Bihar State and known to each other. Two of them are own brothers. About 10 years back, elder brother of accused Kishan Mukhiya and Nithesh Mukhiya by name Gangaram Mukhiya worked as a helper in the house of the Deceased by name Pooja at Ambience fort, Attapur for about one year. There by Gangaram Mukhiya has acquaintance with the Pooja’s family members. Further with the reference of Gangaram Mukhiya his second brother/accused Nithesh Mukhiya also joined in the house of Pooja as a Kitchen helper and Housekeeping servant and worked there for about 9 months from November 2017 to June-2018. There by the accused Nithesh Mukhiya is well acquainted with the Deceased family and observed that the Father and Mother of Pooja lives alone in their own house at Sirimalle Colony, Nalanda Nagar of Hyderguda and they are rich and he also observed that they are in the possession of good amount of Gold, Silver Ornaments and net cash in their house.

By observing the availability of good amount of net cash, good quantity of Jewellery in the house of deceased, he resolved to steal the Gold, Silver Ornaments and net cash from the house of Deceased. In pursuance of it, initially he sought the help of his friend/accused Raja Kumar Mandal, which he agreed. Then, about 4 to 5 months back, Nitish Mukhya took Raja Kumar Mandal to Pooja’s house and requested Pooja to keep Raja Kumar Mandal as a Kitchen helper at the house of Deceased. Believing the words of Nithesh, Pooja kept accused Raja Kumar Mandal as a Kitchen helper in the house of Deceased. Raja Kumar Mandal worked there for one day and observed all the things in the house and left the house of the deceased on the same day evening. In the end of June, 2018, Nithesh also left the work at Pooja’s house and left for his Native Village. Since then, Nitish was staying at his native village.

Further about 15 to 20 days prior to the offence, Nitish disclosed his plan of committing Robbery at the house of deceased to his elder brother Kishan Mukhiya and his friend Raja Kumar Mandal as they are residing in Hyderabad. Further Nithesh Mukhiya also informed his plan to one of his friends by name Umesh Mukhiya, who was residing in Karnataka State and asked to come to Hyderabad for committing this offence. As per their plan about 15 days back, Umesh Mukhiya came to Hyderabad to commit Property offence in the house of Deceased. As per the directions of Nitish Mukhiya and as per their pre plan, two days prior to the offence, i.e., on the intervening night of 14/15.08.2018, all the other accused persons Kishan Mukhiya, Umesh Mukhiya and Raja Kumar Mandal went to the house of the deceased, went to 1 st Floor of the house by climbing the wall through the grills and did a perfect recee for gaining access to enter the house properly. During that, they found that it will be easy for them to enter the house by removing glass panes fitted to a French door in the first floor of the house and also observed that, it could be removed easily by one Screw driver and by observing it, they left the house. Later they went to a Hardware shop on August 15 and purchased a screw driver.

On the intervening night of 16/17.08.2018, as per the directions of Nithesh, all the other accused persons Kishan Mukhiya, Umesh Mukhiya and Raja Kumar Mandal went to the deceased’s house. Umesh Mukhiya went to the 1st floor by climbing wall through the Grills and removed the glass which was fitted to French Door at 1 st floor with the help of Screw driver and entered in to the house. Thereafter, Umesh Mukhiya opened the Kitchen door lock from inside and called other accused Kishan Mukhiya, Raja Kumar Mandal in to the house and started searching the wardrobes in the house for net cash & jewellery. While they were searching the wardrobes, both the inmates of the house i.e., deceased Rajendra Prasad Agarwal and his wife Taramani Bai woke up and tried to shout. Then Kishan Mukhiya and Raja Kumar Mandal tied the legs and hands of Deceased and his wife with a thin rope available in the house. At that time Umesh Mukhiya disconnected Oxygen support of the Deceased and shut his mouth with adhesive tape and they also shut the mouth of the deceased’s wife in the same manner. Even though the deceased tried to shout, then Umesh Mukhiya took a pillow and pressed the deceased face, whereas Kishan Mukhiya and Raja Kumar Mandal hold the hands and legs of the deceased and all have smothered the deceased Rajendra Prasad Agarwal to death. Further they robbed Gold, Silver, Tilt Ornaments and cash from the wardrobes of the house and also stolen two Mobile phones of the deceased and his wife and fled away from there.

Immediately after offence they went to Secunderabad Railway Station and enquired about the trains either for Patna or Darbhanga of Bihar State. As the trains were not available from Hyderabad at that time, they engaged a Car from Taxi Stand outside the Secunderabad Railway station and left for Visakhapatnam. On the way, near Vijayawada, all the accused halted for some refreshment and they thrown the stolen phones of the deceased and his wife there and went to Vishakapatnam. Later they went to Howrah by Train and from there, they went to their respective native places through Samistipur of Bihar by Train.

Immediately after the gruesome crime, Special Police teams from Cyberabad and Shamshabad plunged into action to identify the accused and to apprehend them. All the teams have worked day and night continuously for two days and identified the accused. Later, a special team went to Bihar and with the coordination of Bihar Police they apprehended three of the four accused involved in the offence in the morning of August 22 from three different places of Darbhanga district of Bihar State and brought them to Hyderabad by Transit Warrant.
