The Election Commission of India today announced the schedule for the by-elections in two Lok Sabha seats and 14 MLC segments across the country including Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly segment and Tirupathi MP segment in April 17 and counting to be done on May 2.
The results of all these segments going for the polls to be announced followed by counting of the votes on May 2, the EC said.
According to information the EC has released the schedule for the same and asked the politicos to file nominations till March 30, scrutiny of the same on 31. The nominations can be withdrawn by April 3 as the polls will be conducted on April 17, the EC said. The results of all the segments going for the polls will be announced on May 2.

The EC said that a related notification will be issued on March 23 and accept the nominations till the month-end.
The TRS is likely to field the widow of Nomula Narsimhaiah whose death caused the by-elections. While the Congress top leader and former minister K Jana Reddy will be contesting the key by-elections, the BJP is to field a leader from the Yadava community which is reportedly strong in the segment. It is learned that the TRS and the BJP are to field the candidates of Yadava leaders with a good name in the segment to get the community votes.
