Hyderabad: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) Chennai bench held a hearing on the issue of demolition of the Telangana Secretariat.
Congress Member of Parliament Revanth Reddy has filed a petition seeking an inquiry as the demolition of the secretariat is an environmental issue.
The state government and the central environment ministry have been named as respondents. He alleged that the govt has been demolishing the old buildings of the Secretariat without getting environmental permits.
However, a lawyer for the state government said the matter was already being heard in the high court. Responding to this, NGT said that it will hear the arguments after the trial in the high court. The next hearing was adjourned to Monday.
