Odisha Reports Highest Single Day Covid 19 Deaths, Centre Send Management Team

As the Covid 19 cases in the country continue to decline, the ministry of health and family welfare recently deployed a team for Covid 19 management in Odisha on Monday.

Covid 19 Management Team To Track On-Field Situation

The team cent by the Centre consists of two members, Dr Shibani Dutta, Professor of Professor of Kolkata-based All India Institute of Hygiene & Public Health (AIIH&PH) Dr Shibani Dutta (reached on Monday) and Prasanta Raghab Mohapatra, a professor in AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Talking to the media, Dutta said that their programme includes meeting the state government officials on Monday. And then tomorrow, they’ll be going to districts which have high caseloads and rising case trends.

The aim of the field visit is to see the early signs of tracing and testing of the Covid 19 cases. Along with the containment activities. They will also check if the hospitals are equipped with sufficient numbers of beds and ventilators to accommodate the patients.

The team will check the overall implementation of the Covid 19 safety norms and the Covid appropriate behaviour. Along with the availability of ventilators, hospitals, ambulances and medical oxygen, Covid 19 vaccination.

The members of the team are also expected to give suggestions that the state government can adopt to curb the Covid 19 cases in the state.

Odisha Reports Highest Single Day Covid 19 Deaths

As per the latest reports, Odisha on Monday reported 52 deaths in one single day and the death toll currently stands at 4,248.

The highest Covid 19 deaths (9) were reported in the Khurda district. Along with Bargarh, Kalahandi, Puri, Sundergarh and Bargarh reporting 5 deaths each.

CBK Mohanty, Director Medical Education and Training (DMET) said that generally there is a gap between the person getting detected of Covid 19 and their death. If a person has tested positive today, the death occurs in a few days.

So, few patients are under treatment in critical care facilities for many days, adding to the high fatality rate. However, the deaths may also come very soon, Mohanty added.
