Oppn parties urge Guv to restrain CM from abusing his power

Hyderabad: Telangana TD president L Ramana and others along with leaders of Congress, TJS and the CPI submitted a representation to the Governor alleging that caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was abusing his power and sought action against him.

They said Telangana State was formed on June 2, 2014 as per an Act of Parliament and on the same day K. Chandrashekhar Rao took oath as Chief Minister for a period of five years. Though the people of Telangana State gave mandate to the TRS to rule the State for full term, the State cabinet on September 6 passed a resolution for dissolution of the Assembly. The same was approved and Chandrasekhar Rao was directed to act as a caretaker Chief Minister.

They stated that K. Chandrasekhar Rao held a media conference on the same day and informed the media, “I already discussed with Central Election Commission to hold the elections in the November 2018 and will form the government in the month of December 2018”. So this is against the principles of democracy and against the Constitution, because holding of elections and formation of government was the duty of Constitutional body and the Election Commission is the authority to hold elections.

They further stated that the caretaker Chief Minister was abusing his power and benefiting his party. It is further submitted that there are 12 government advisors, their existence is not required at present stage by paying salaries, allowances, etc., In the same manner members of planning board also continuing and enjoying the powers of the government. Moreover some of the MLA’s are in cabinet rank as Chairman for defferent Corporations.

And some of the Chairmans are also contesting as a Member of Legislative Assembly as declared by the TRS party, which is illegal and unconstitutional.

The delegation urged the Governor to control and restrain the Acting Chief Minister from interfering with the institutions and financé aspects of the government witch will influence the voters as such interference by the acting Chief Minister is Illegal and unconstitutional in the policies of financial and other institutions which enlighten the voters which is illegal and unconstitutional. Moreover, the Caretaker Chief Minister was influencing the government institutions and taking revenge against his political opponents which is illegal and unconstitutional.

They urged the Governor to control the undemocratic actions of the caretaker Chief Minister in the larger interests of the public and Telangana State and take appropriate urgent action.
